Well I picked it up today and finally made it home from Lambeth Walk to Muswell Hill in London.
as far as i can tell, save for the peddles, the bike is original, down to the battered white Bianchi saddle.
Here is what I do know
1980s Celeste colour Spirit made in Italy
10 Speed, Sachs Huret front derailleur (rusted and bent)
Suntour VX rear derailleur (dirty but functional)
Weinman type 500 Brakes-no pits should cleanup well
no makers' mark headset
Ambrosio "extra" rims, dirty but good
un named quick release hub in front, noisy but true
unnamed fixed hub in the back, very nosy and with ossolation
worn chain and rear cassette
scuffed crankset, un makes save for the main sprocket which is an ofmega
the peddles are hard black resin with toe clips.

i intend to ride in a couple of period races next year and will make some changes but not sure which.

I will have the frame repainted-there are two discrete Bianchi lozenges at the back end end of the frame
where the wheel mounting is probably paint it red.

I will be looking for some parts in the future.

best

here is a better one, I thought Brave New World was good, The Doors of Perception documents his experimenting with LSD-one should never cycle while stoned.. or drunk

v tatty gears. Ive sprung for some early parts including new wheels, the bearing are shot and the hubs are rusted. The rims are nice however and might put new hubs on them.
