I have an s works venge. Just had back surgery..will the venge be ok for me in 4 weeks or will it be too aggressive and stiff. should I consider adding a Roubaix to the. Stable as a comfort bike for the recovery time to come. I've been riding 2-1/2years and just turned 50. Surgery was a herniated disk.

Can't really comment on your case, but do you have a turbo? After my escapades, 3 or 4 weeks just riding the turbo in the garage helped me get back to my normal riding position. When you do get back on the road, if you have any problems turning to look behind, fit a wing mirror.

Good luck,

Keith

I am on my way back from surgery after my discectomy. I was on a Turbo trainer within a week, albeit gently and on the road within 3 weeks. I have actually found that post surgery, on the road I feel the need to put my stem back the right way up after having to flip it for comfort. I have a Giant Defy, so pretty relaxed to start with. Good luck with your recovery.

The question is, do you want a Roubaix?
Are you thinking of getting one as an N+1 and just seeking some sort of verification that it's a good idea? If so, it's a great idea  :okay:

If you do want a more relaxed geometry and to carry on enjoying cyling a Roubaix might well be the way to go. You can never have too many bikes IMO

If you've just had disk surgery, don't expect to be back on any bike in 4 weeks. Either way, your question is impossible for anyone else to answer. Should be a matter for yourself and your surgeon.
