If its a leisure ride and one that you think you may not complete, I would use one of the bikes you have already. A new bike won't solve the problem of your knee. But a neoprene knee support might, it does mine, and its less than £2000.

People do this ride on all sorts of cheap, scrap bikes. I am sure one of yours will fit the bill. All you need is a rack and some cheap panniers.

If your Boardman Hybrid is anything like this it would certainly do the job over 2 weeks.
