Hi there cyclists!
Yet again I wish to kindly ask for your valuable knowledge...
I currently commute 4-12 miles on my Carrera Virtuoso 2007 (Halford's £300 entry level road bike) in South East London (I like in Woolwich). I now have a job! , So I'm not just a poor student and was thinking about getting a new commuter as the Virt is in need or repair and too small for me.
I could repair and upgrade to Virtuoso but it needs a full service and at least a new front mech, and a good true in order to be up to spec. So I guess I'm looking for a commuter that is:
> Fast
> Can handle London grime
> Won't get nicked (my Virt is very chipped and not appealing to a thief, I also have insurance up to £400, my lock is a £40 Kyrptonite D-Lock.)
And on a small side note I really like simple looking bikes (I really like the fixed scene, but I change gear so much it really doesn't look like I would be any good at fixed)
Any advice would be great! Thanks
p.s. I hope this is in the right forum?
