Hey guys, I finally ordered my new bike today. After weeks of searching for a road bike I've settled on... a Hybrid!

Felt QX75: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/felt/qx75-2008-hybrid-bike-ec000594

I decided that a Hybrid would fit my needs better for now, I was initially looking to get a road bike but had worries about my back and the terrain around my area. I wanted to be able to ride on road and gravel paths and this bike fits the bill perfectly with high-end components, all for £350. Other retailers are selling it for £400 so I feel like I got a great deal from Evans Cycles

It's funny, after looking around LBS's for hours on end I didn't have the nerv to purchase anything, nothing really grabbed me. Then I find this online for a great price and purchased it instantly.

Now I'm just waiting for it to arrive so I can take it for a spin! I'm hoping to build my fitness and lose some (alot) of weight

Yeah it's nice looking.

I was originally looking at the QX65 but it has a lower spec frame/components/wheels. The QX75 has a double butted frame, decent components and double-wall rims.

I didn't really want disc brakes (added weight, nightmare if they go wrong) although the bike is compatible so if I decided to add them in the future (very unlikely) I could do so. Also I didn't want suspension, I prefer a stiffer ride so upgrading for that sake would have been pointless.

I've been so worried about buying a bike, even more so spending £600 on one, I'm just happy now.

Any suggestions on some nice bright LED lights?

Oh gawd, I've had to cancel the order now as I've noticed something.

It seems Felt released at least 2 different versions in 2008, the latter version having better components and 9 speed rather than 8 speed cassette.

I was wondering how Evans could sell it so cheap (£50 less than everywhere else) and now I've found out why... sucks!

I'm going to have to order it from another online shop, anyone know of a good one?

Wiggle have 1 in stock, anyone had experience with them?

If wiggle have an item in stock their "free" delivery IME is very fast, 1 or 2 days but I've never bought anything large from them such as a bike.

I was just about to order the same bike.

Can you tell me where you got your information about the upgrade? I have emailed the UK stockist (saddleback) and they said that from the spec sheets they are 8 speed.

Thanks
