Finally took ownership of the Focus Varaido 2.0 that I ordered over a month ago, C2W voucher was slow to process. £900 for a decent alloy frame with full 105 seemed like a bargain. More importantly, it fitted me really well.
Just got back from a pacy 55 mile club ride and absolutely loved it. I was a little worried that the racier geometry would make me a little sore, but I feel fine. Well, legs are in tatters but that's normal for me after a ride of that length
The bike felt stiff and very responsive. The Conti. GP4000 tyres I fitted rolled really well. At times, I'd just be coasting along without putting too much effort in and was amazed that I was doing 22mph. I'd have to really get the legs churning to get to that speed on my other bike. And climbing was great too, I flew up Box Hill (new surface they've laid for the Olympics obviously helped).
Came home and hugged the mrs. to say thanks for letting me get this new bike. Absolutely thrilled
