New Bike time

Only gone and bought another bike, saw a good deal on a 2016 model on Evans website. Hopefully the bike will be delivered by tomorrow.

Somehow managed to convince the wife it was a good idea! She is not impressed that I will now have 5 bikes in the garage thou, she is even mentioning that I might have to sell one!

Anyway super excited - will post pics once all set up!

Needed something with a more sit up riding position! I've got a dodgy back and knees.

Not that flexible for sporty racing bikes these days!

Can I get a crib sheet on how you managed to convince SWMBO that this was a good idea? I struggle to convince mine that £20 for a new jersey is reasonable! lol.

Not sure,He works in the same job as me.Don't know about spending 7 grand on one,though.

The thing for me would not being able to leave it anywhere is one of my main reasons.

I guess if you can spend £7k on a bike you can afford to insure it?

I couldn't justify it as a) I do chop and change bikes and don't want to lose too many £££ and b) I would never be able to ride it as it should be c) most 7k bikes are those ugly as sin aero things, cheaper bikes tend to be more handsome! (Possibly with the exception of some Ti offerings)

Just been contacted by Evans, the bike has got some scuffs on the brake lever, stem and chain ring, the photos don't look too bad, so negotiated £200 vouchers. They originally only offered £100

Bike will be delivered Friday now!

£2700 is a lot of money for me, but am paying on finance at £100 per month, so makes it more manageable for me!

But you do seem to ride a lot so from that perspective its pretty relative. I only do about 20% of the miles you do, so for me its would just be a bridge too far.
