Just got out on this today. Replacement for my two year old via Nirone.
World of difference in all aspects of the ride. Handling, steering, changes, and most notably comfort. Beginning to wish I'd not spent that two years being kicked up the backside by every ripple and bump. Barely felt a thing this morning, what a joy to ride.

Looks lovely; I've a Sempre, it's great bike and I'm sure you'll love it.

I built mine up and have Ultegra groupset, I'm assuming yours has the FSA brakes...? If so, how do you find them?

Cheers All, it does go as well as it looks. Herzog, they're Athena brakes on this one and very good. Has FSA stem, seatpost is all. Everything else is Athena bar the chain and cassette which are Chorus, first bike I've had with a complete groupset. Feels nice.

Good decision, I've heard a few bad things about the FSA brakes that come on some Bianchi models.

You've got a great bike there, and a very nice colour scheme.

Chris - very very nice looking bike. I have also been looking at a Sempre but not with Athena as I just cannot afford it. I have the Sempre Ultegra on my list but it does have FSA brakes on it so should I steer clear then ? This is a link to the Sempre Ultegra with full list of kit.

I have found it online for approx £1600 which I thought was a good purchase but having second thoughts now having just read Herzog's comment.

That's a good price and the brakes are cheap to replace. I'd grab it. That said my via Nirone had the Bianchi reparto corse brakes which are FSA rebadged and they were fine. :-)

Mine also came from Tredz. Highly recommended.

Hi Rando,

As Chrisc wrote, the brakes are FSA rebadged and many people have found these to be fine (though, as I wrote above, I've heard other opinions). The reason I put it together myself was that I wanted the full Ultegra groupset and a better wheelset (I think Fulcrum 7's are a good wheel BTW), but for the petty much the same price I was able to use RS80s, giving the frame wheels it deserved (as I'm outside the UK I got all these bits and pieces VAT free making the build pretty cheap).
