New bike

When I get 5 minutes this week, I'm off to pick up a new bike.

I've been hanging my nose over this Specialized Stumpjumper Elite 650b for the past few days, and I have managed to secure a good deal over the £3500 that it was originally listed for

Next year I intend riding up Mount Snowdon so I'll need something fairly substantial

Nice. Planning on riding down?

I have done a slight variation on the Rangers Path a couple of times. I’m not up to speed on the times of year Snowdon is ‘closed’ to MTBs anymore. Any ideas?

May 1st to Sept 30th between 10am and 5pm. We went mid week in October and it was still quite busy.

I should think anything else might be a bit of an anti climax after that.

Nice looking bike is that @Biff600

Anything else planned for it?

Thank you.

I may have a rattle around the Pentland Hills, as my brother lives in West Linton, so I could amalgamate a beerex with my bro and have a blast about to clear my head

Regarding the 'Closed Season' on Snowdon, plenty of opportunity to have an early morning ride and back in time for a fat-boy-breakfast in the spring/summer !!

Nah definitely the Snowdon ranger exit. Just at the end you see the railway station to the left.
Ah I've googled it now, it looked like the station for the Snowden Railway but having seen the route on a map I'd forgotten there is a British Rail line at the back of the Hostel.

I dont think you'll be riding that bike up Snowdon; you may be pushing it up and riding it down though. You'll know for sure when you hit the first steep little climb just a few yards outside Llanberis village. I just about got up that on my light XC hardtail but much of the rest of the route defeated me.

Thanks for the vote of confidence !

Obviously you are also fully aware of the level of my fitness :training:
