I have the Hayes sole hydraulic brakes, from the start they have not been the best and tbh I have just realised they are hydraulic, I was thinking they were mechanical as they were not that good.

They now need bleeding, so I'm wondering should I just put up with them or swap them for something better? I use the bike for commuting so I don't need the best brakes but it would be nice to have something a little better than these, any suggestions on what I could replace them with, or should I just put up with them as tbh I have no idea what cost a replacement system would be but don't really want to spend more than say£100 on a replacement.

I am not an expert on disc brakes but I would have thought when bled and adjusted your brakes should be perfectly sevicable.

yeah Ithink you are right, should be good enough for my needs, just a bit p'ssed they are not so great, I've had better V brakes in the past.

Will buy a bleed kid, give that a go, if still not so great will look to swap to shamino XT as they seem to get good reviews and the price is not too far from what I wanted to pay.
