Firefox every time... 1,312,797,759 and counting.

Failing that try Opera.

If we are recommending Firefox because of the add-ons, then maybe a quick list will help.

I use Adblock Plus, British English Dictionary, Download Helper and PDF Download. Covers everything I think I need but there are so many that it would be good to hear if anyone has anything they consider to be a "must have" for anyone considering Firefox.

+1 for Download Helper and NoScript.

I also use ...

FoxClocks, as I do business with several different countries and it gives me instant mouseover view of the local times in each without using up any screenspace.

FireFTP, which saves having separate FTP software.

Greasemonkey, with a bunch of scripts.

Skype Extension, to give single-click dial of phone numbers on webpages.

Finally, three really simple yet useful add-ons for the terminally lazy like me: Go To Google, New Tab Homepage and TinyURL Creator.

You can now add NoScript and FoxClocks to my list too.

I did have Skype and FireFTP but don't use either of them so I've now disabled both.

just a few of my fave addons for firefox.

adblock plus - removes adverts
autopager - for auto loading the next pages on forums!!!!
downloadhelper - for saving flash movies (you tube etc...)
imagezoom - for resizing images...
locationbar - for making urls easier to see in the address bar
noscript - disables javascript unless you allow the sites for safer surfing
sessionmanager - if you have a bunch of tabs open you can save them to continue at a later date...
toolbar buttons - adds loads of new buttons that you can add to your toolbar
yet another smooth scolling - nice and smoooooooth scrolling of those long forum pages....
tabmixplus - lots of config options for tabs...
plus many others that are more specifically for web developing...

I recommend Firefox! Don't waste your time with the others. Many addons are available that you will find very very useful.

Just a point about Google Chrome is you can now install extensions on that to! Most of the major ones used in FF are already available on Chrome. I didnt move to Chrome until the extensions came.
