Hi,

I wanted a camera for commute bought am 808 #11 as a result of this review from this seller on ebay for about £25.

Really impressed with it, would prefer a proper mount as it can vibrate a little with the velco supplied.

Here's a clip from close pass on first trip today.

I guess I should have been further right there to block the car from passing?Any comments or tips?

That's great quality footage; might think about getting one of those myself.
As for the pass, didn't look too bad to me but I wasn't there !

On the approach look over your shoulder to see if there is any traffic then move across.

If there is traffic coming, bunny hop onto the pavement and whiz by the bloke with the blue shirt and carrier bag, before getting some major air of the kerb before rejoining the road.

You asked for tips:

On the approach look over your shoulder to see if there is any traffic then move across.

If there is traffic coming that you think you may come into conflict with then use your judgement and either give a signal and move out or touch the brakes let the motor vehicle go in front then move out, still with a signal depending on if there is any traffic behind.

Put your hand up in thanks to any car behind you as you move back over and they overtake.

Agreed, I did shoulder check too late (slight wobble on vid) and as car was close was then indecisive about my position and left a gap just big enough for the car to squeeze through (which it did).

Only been riding for just over a month and done abut 275 miles so still learning....

Thanks for feedback

Didn't look that bad but I do know that being overtaking in a pinch pint will be close.
So listen to what Lee has to say above, the man speaketh sense.

Did cross my mind but would have only worked with a blast of an Airzound which I don't yet have...

I'm thinking of getting another for rear view!

The camera is mounted on the bell on the left of the bars so the pass probably doesn't look as close as it was...

Too close and yes, you should have taken a better position through that pinch point and through that junction.

A problem with cameras is the close passes don't look as close as they where. Unless you get some point of reference such as your handle bars. TheVexatiousLitigant does this well.

Blimey the difference is unbelievable when you can see the bars.

I sometimes find it useful to hold my right hand out and back in a stop sign. This almost always causes them to wait. I did this tonight with a ven that was about to squeeze through. My exaggerated gesture waving him past when the carriage widened caused him and his passenger to laugh, but at least he waited, and possibly learned something. (I passed them again at the next lights, so maybe they learned something from that as well.)
