I've done the Edinburgh-St Andrews ride the last three years.

It's an excellent event. Good distance, a couple of nice little hills, quiet roads, and most importantly the best selection and value of cake you will ever experience at the church hall in Freuchie.

The basic principle of the LEPRA Ed-StA ride is to go flat out to Freuchie, overload with tea, sandwiches and, of course, CAKE :hungry: (strawberry tarts to die for ...), top up all your waterbottles, then head off .... for the steepest climb of the day !

It's a good ride - as long as the wind/weather is not from the east ... :cold:/ :rain:. When @Rasmus did it a couple of years ago, it was dreadful. xx( I gave it a miss that year ...

Welcome to the forum from Dunfermline, I did the St. Andrews ride with @Rasmus last year and I agree with him that it truly is a great route and the cheap great selection of cakes is amazing

Biggest regret of living in Edinburgh for 4 years...not being into cycling at the time! I had a friend who lived in Livingston...spent quite a few weekends there but never cycled :-(
