Without wanting to sound too pesimistic (or any variation of that spelling), play it safe and leave it a while longer. set yourself a sensible goal of if it has not been used by next spring, then i will sell it in time for... it gives you a comfort zone and will allow you the ability of 'off periods' to continue to have both options available to you and you don't yet know how you will cope when it gets colder again or you are just slightly under the weather, but not actually ill, but at the same point know if you cycle to xyz it will be that little too much for you and you will end up ill again...
I know, I have been there before (and am currently there again...)
Yes, I think thats a good plan. I was particularly thinking that winter may prove to be a challange.
I've been amazed really. I'd been forced to use my other bike as the ebike brakes needed adjusting, OH was away and my attempts just made it worse.
Going to work is fine, it's coming home which is challenging. Add to this that it was the heatwave. Well, I was absolutely amazed. If anything I seem to be coping with the uphill section better than I ever did before I was ill!
My OH says I'm like Lance Armstrong and have recovered from serious illness stronger and fitter than ever! (but without the need for wee testing, obviously).
Its a funny situation. I met a friend of a friend the other day, who turned out to be a consultant in the critical care unit I was in, she was amazed at my recovery and couldn't believe that I'm riding and working again. I count my blessings every day that I've recovered so well, and in part I think the ebike had a part in it, as I was able to gently exercise where otherwise I'd have been sat on my tush watching daytime telly!
