Hi all,

Having just got a revolution pathfinder and starting to ride to work I was wondering if any one knew about any sites that might offer routes that are cycle safe??

Don't know about routes but reading a copy of Cyclecraft will help you cycle more safely...

If you're in Manchester get a copy of the bike maps.
For some bizarre reason they're not available online. I sent off to CycleGM for two but one was out of print.
I then found that The Bicycle Doctor had a whole stack in their shop...

Try http://www.cyclestreets.net/ for London it gives you 2 routes fast or quiet. Not sure how good it is for Manchester, but it helped me shave 10 minutes off my commute.

Thanks for all the info so far,

In responce I am riding from eccles to Plymouth grove behind MRI. I do one commute at around 6.00am and the other around 3.30pm.

I am finding that the afternoon commute is into a headwind for most of the way, bit of a pain after a day at work.

Try google maps, put both postcodes in and see what it gives you (tell it to avoid highways though!!) - you can then click on the provided route and drag it to different roads to see what effect it has on mileage etc.

I go from Urmston to The University in Manchester, so reasonably similar route/direction. I meet up with another bod off this forum and we extend the almost 6 mile route down to Didsbury/Chorlton (depending on weather) for a 10/8 miler... we don't set off until 8.00am though so not much use to you!!
