Hi bhoyjim, I'm a fellow Glasgow cycle commuter. What's your route to and from work? My commute is from Motherwell into the east end and I don't see many other cyclists on my route.

All the best and good luck with the cycle commuting

OP - well done, it can only help, I'm trying to get to the stage where a bike is my first thought for transport, some habits are hard to break.

7:40 on Tuesday morning, I was on one of four bikes stopped at lights at Bellahouston Park - isn't cycling getting popular in Glasgow? Is this something else we can blame Magnatom for?

Bhoyjim,

Well done! My story is very similar to yours. When I started commuting to work, a few years ago, I caught a goodly amount of teasing from my mates. Before long, however, 2 more guys started riding! It felt great to think that I inspired others to ride! It just took one chap to break the ice. I'd like to see this happen in all workplaces. I know, everyone can't ride, due to practical distance, dropping off kids at daycare, or whatever, but at least we have those who can ride, thinking about it.

Now, I've come to view the automobile as a prosthetic device. I hate it, but still need it. However, whenever I need to travel anywhere, my first thought is, "Can I do it on the bike?"

Nah. If I didn't post my videos there would have been 12 cyclists at the lights!
