By Glasgow's standards, I thought the facilities already in place good, but, true, not suitable for children because of a right turn into a main road.

What on earth is the point of a couple of very short stetches of 2-way cycleway?

OK, if you happen to be following the designated route from east to west it is more or less continuous - though a fiddly mix of shared use pavements, poor quality 2-way cycle paths, toucan crossings that end you up on the wrong side of the street, and streets lined with parking on both sides. But what if you are heading north through the area - you simply end up on the wrong side of the road.
