New Decathlon carbon road bike

I bought a Decathlon Fitness 3 with carbon forks and stays a couple of months ago. It is such a nice ride, and is the least expensive bike available on the UK market (that I can find) that has carbon seat stays. It was under £500, and I reckon that Decathlon bikes represent superb value for money. They have an enormous presence in France, and consequent buying power but without the naff after sales that the bigger dealers (Halfrauds) have in the UK.

Why didn't you buy it?

I'd say that £1500 for a Decathlon bike with a 105 groupset and heavy, no-name wheels is far from a great deal. Just my opinion, but seeing as Planet X are doing the SL Pro with a part-SRAM Red groupset for only £1099 my advice would be to look around and see how much bike £1500 can get you. You could get the P-X and use the £401 left over to get some really nice wheels and you'd have a MUCH better bike than the bTwin.
