Many would argue that the XK drew from the lines of the E type in its styling and "tucked under" look.

I think it actually rivals the E Type for looks and in many ways is better. It looks right from all angles whereas the E type looks lovely from some angles and rather odd from others.

Spoilt the XK with the 2006 revamp.

I'm talking about the original 1948 Jag XK120. Now there was a car with character. :becool:

Well, it's not really a Jaguar, although it will be based the the XK mechanicals http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/jaguar-e-type-concept-growler-production-2011-03-04

XJS fan here too, I almost bought one a few years back but chickened out. I'd still love one, but decent condition late models have become very expensive/sought after, though still a lot of car for the money!

It's my understanding that The Leaper does not meet European pedestrian safety standards so The Growler is fitted.

In the USA The Leaper is allowed.

If you see a Leaper on a UK car it has been fitted, after market (and quite legally) by an idiot.

Sorry I may not have been clear, they put a side on Leaper accross the boot of the XF - it looks horrid and should not be on sideways like that.

I've never liked the E-type, too bulbous on the sides, too narrow in the tyres...

I've always thought similar - mostly I hate the way the wheels are lost somewhere inside the wheel arches. At least some of the replica kit-cars move the wheels out more to increase the track. I always worried that if ever I won loads of money I'd buy an E-Type, move the wheels out so they filled the arches and then get letter bombed by the Jaguar Maffia

I settled in the end (no lottery win) for an S-Type 3L with stick-shift. Good car but on it's way to a new home soon I hope
