If anyone is interested LD lines are now sailing from Poole to Gijon and Santander. Bicycle fair looks to be reasonable as well.

There are reasons they're cheaper than Brittany.
I've used LD lines 3 times. Never again.

Thanks Doog! I love the Euro YeYe in Gijon, we are now looking at August quotes and wondering how to strap my bike to my scooter.

+ 1 for poor service from LD. Abysmal comms when they had a boat crash and had to replace the fast one with a slow one. We have juster booked our family hold and paid a mint with Brittany as they are so good. Really nice food too. I have used them a few times and very good service

+1 for Brittany ferries. Used them a few times now. They are one of the few companies that don't insist on you booking a cabin for overnight crossings (good for us skinflint single travellers). The reclining seat lounges are always very comfortable, and they restrict the noisy school parties to separate lounges.
P&O out of Hull are very good too, but certainly not cheap.

On the St Malo route I have now twice in the last 18 mths paid for the recliner (£5) then taken my airbed and sleeping bag on deck and slept outdoors. Fantastic

would have been a bit cheeky! First time was mid Sept and my warmer sleeping bag was far too hot. Second time i had the lightweight one and it was ideal. Warm but with a strong wind
