Glad I waited! It's not the MJ 808, with 900 lumen, but with 1200 lumen. And for £27.71, wow.

The whole point of a light that bright is to light your path. The focused beam is aimed at the ground a few meters in front of you and will not blind drivers in normal conditions ( going over a slope or hill may be different)Isn't that a bit 'too' bright for a bicycle? Can you adjust the brightness? The only thing I'd worry about with a light like that is pissing off car drivers.
Also there are no reviews. I heard the ones from ebay have crappy connections on the charger, too loose and the light switches on immediately when you connect. Is this the same one?
Actually it's just a case for a type of rechargeable battery that is readily available on the market. If it dies then you can just remove it from the case and buy a replacement. The battery is not specific to the magicshine brand.
You should be using two lights anyway, it makes you look like a larger object and makes it easier to gauge speed. You can then run 1 on flash and 1 on steady. You have had great advice on what to buy. All I will add is if possible buy a second when you can. If the light dies do you want to be faffing around swapping batteries or simply switch on another light. You could also employ the caver method of switching between lights at set intervals. That way you always know you have one working light.
It uses 4x li-ion 18650 cells. So 4x of these would work

Sorry I was talking about what''s referred to @2:32 in this youtube video. Anyone have an idea of how firmly the wires connect together on the T6 Water Resistant XML-T6? Is it as good as the MJ 808? I was worried that the ebay lamp he's referring to in the video might be the XML-T6...

woops i didn't check the price of those, just the first ones which came up. You can get much cheaper ones. The batteries last a good amount of time if you look after them. What !!!!!!!!!!! £45 for spare batteries gaz . I can see know why that guy wanted his Hope vision 1 back
I very nearly got turned on (pun) for the MJ808 Magicshine
Im still wanting the Hope Vision 1. Spare rechargable AAA batteries only cost £15 and available everywhere
Also that Magic shine is made of cheese compared to the Hope Vision 1 of what is made in England . That Magic Tragic Lamp is made by little children in some down town chinese back street.
Hope Vision 1 wins the day IMO![]()

Lordy, so many choices.
