Hi,

I've recently moved up to Warrington/Stockton Heath from London. It's nice up here, countryside and stuff. I've had most of a year off cycling then "suddenly" there was a gut where my waist used to be! Two choices:
  1. Stop eating and drinking like I'm taking loads of exercise.
  2. Take loads of exercise.
I've opted for the latter. So, if you're riding round the countryside to the south of Warrington, I'm the fat bloke with a red face, sitting at the side of the road with a restorative pork pie. Do stop and say hello.

Cheers, Duncan.

Thanks for the welcome. It seems I'm multi-talented, I can eat lots of cake as well as pork pies.

Thanks too frayBentos59 for the invitation. I'll bear that in mind and telephone the pie shop in advance!

Cheers, Duncan.

Sounds good to me calibanzwei and Melonfish. I've just been looking at ridewithgps.com and have seen some of your routes. Looks like it gets a bit lumpy over Buxton way. I might save those ones until a bit later on.

Also have to get permission from the Missus

Warrington based here too, we'll get you out and about no worries!

We're like some sort of sordid double act. Giggedy.
Buxton? Don't remember planning much out that way, but there's plenty of South Cheshire to explore - I'm usually head out to High Legh and then head either East or West, depending on prevailing winds

That Cat and Fiddle route does look good. I'd love to do it but may need to get some miles in my legs over the next couple of weekends.

You're right about the rain. But that's fine, I'm waterproof!
