Hi all,

Names James, nickname's scuddy, from Preston in Lancashire. I had many a pushbike when I was at school, (Grifter, Chopper, Peugeot racer etc.)

I'm just starting out again on a push bike and went with the government cyclescheme and got myself a Raleigh Urban 2. Bog standard so far apart from a Bell computer, and Outland bar ends.

I was a bit heavy at 15 stone 10, do decided I'd get a bike to use for work when the weather is ok, (its only a mile and a half away) and for keeping fit.

Have set myself a goal, and thats to ride at least 10 miles, 5 times a week. so far haven't had the bike a week yet and have just hit 50 miles (first ride 5 mile, 2nd ride, 10.3 mile (uphill 50%), 3rd ride was round local park a few times (10 mile) 4th ride - same park, 15 miles, 5th ride was 13.4 mile tonight)

Hopefully not doing too bad

I am actually having a good time, I think I chose the right type of bike, use is commuting and just getting road miles in, and getting fit -ride with a mate who has a GT Stunt / jump bike, he is way fitter than me - so hopefully will get pushed along by him.

Cheers for the hello!

Definitely a good choice of bike. 700c wheels, sensible width tires, rigid fork - Perfect for commuting, and you should have some good rides on it off the commute!
