Hello everyone

I an new to posting on this forum but have been having a good read on here for the past 3 weeks or so.

I am commuting in from Chadwell Heath to Mayfair but will be moving to Bickley soon. Does anyone do this journey and what is it like?

Have only been commuting in for about 2 weeks enjoying it so far even in that heavey ran we had on Tuesday.

Have been riding bike for years but stopped using a bike to commut years ago.

Have a full on freeride bike with all the gear for chucking myself around on at the weekends.

My bike include

17 year old Raleigh Ravin MTB
Specailized SX trail 2 Custom built
Specailized Sirrus Comp

Was looking to change the 28 tires on the Sirrus over to a set of 23s. Will this make a lot of differance or is it not worth the swap?

Welcome, dave.
I have a Sirrus Elite and did just that, once the 28s had worn out. I guess it did make a difference, but not a hugely noticeable one.

If yours are due for renewal, try the 23s. You can use the same inner tubes, of course.

I don't know anything about your route but the Sirrus is a great bike. I've put 25mm tyres on mine and it was certainly an improvement speed wise. I believe Maz (also on the Forum) put 23's on their's and I would have thought that'd have been even more of an improvement.

thanks for the nice welcome.

May have to look into changing the tires when it time for a new set then.

Hello...

A good quality tyre will make a big difference as to how the bike feels. A cheap tyre can ruin the feel and handling of a great bike !
