Had this frame for ages, now finally built up having waited an eternity for Shimano to add the 11th sprocket.....

I've also hand-built a second pair of wheels with some tough Schwalbe Durano Plus tyres on, as these Vittoria Corsa CXs are, whilst being supremely good on better roads, just a bit too delicate for a British winter/spring/autumn. Fortunately the two rears seem interchangeable without too much derailleur/cassette adjustment. Think I'll also get a 36t chainring for excursions up Hardknott/Rosedale et al......

And does the extra cog make any difference?

Thanks for the compliments!

Have managed a ride in a decent weather window now, and can say it is superbly good! This was on the 380-gramme and rather solid-feeling Durano Plus tyres, so with some Vittoria Corsa CXs it should be even faster.

Any reason for having both a garmin and a cycle computer?

Yes - the Garmin does not measure distances and average speed accurately enough, and tends to sometimes quote my maximum speed as something absurd. It is very useful for map-reading on the fly and recording/following the GPS track/route etc, though.

More gears is always better in hilly country.

For very steep terrain, which I tend to search out, I now have a 28 to add to the 12-25, without having to sacrifice the essential 16 or the 12.
