Having looked at the rules. I'm not as impressed as I was when I first read the thread.

Meat and tattie pies are for wusses - they lend themselves to speed eating due to their soft crusts and semi liquid filling.

Yesterday I was mooching around in out local Booths and in the "quick sale" chiller I found a family sized farmer's pie. That's a giant pork pie but with other meat in it, about the size of a large cereal bowl. I bought it for £1.30 and ate the lot in the car park. The moral? Never shop when you're hungry.

I had to google, as a casual mention of vernon 'demolishing' something needs investigation! I found a Dewhurst butchers archive with pictures of pie-making machinery, recipes for seasoning involving 14lbs of white salt etc, and I mostly wanted to find the mean(wood) size of a stand pie. Big to bigger seems to be the flavour :rolleyes:
