It's not really, dig up the unwanted plants when it's been dry and give them a good shake.

I'd always do that - I want to keep my soil not have to go out and buy more later. Even if plants are just going into my compost bin I'd shake off as much soil as I can first.

5. Food Waste

• No: Packaging of any kind (except approved caddy liners).

We're currently allowed to wrap food in paper, is that changing?

From the end of March, England is introducing "Simpler Recycling"

They switch in June here.

I think this means that will now be included in council tax collections but I'm not sure.

Not here, we're still going to have to pay £55 extra for garden waste

Glass is new for me and welcome - I currently walk or cycle a bag of bottles/jars over to the bins near me when needed.

Same here.

There's no time to get a new bin to everyone so it can't be coming in here for ages yet.

They've scheduled for 15 weeks here, they're in the middle of doing it now.

I get all sorts of crap not allowed by the council, in my bins!

Presumably they'll make you liable, like they do with farmers when fly tippers dump on their land?
