Hi I'm relatively new to cycling been riding a carrera hybrid but want to upgrade.

I have 3 prolapsed discs and therefore tradition road bike posture not helpful. I'm looking for a road bike with flat bars.

Also I'm on a tight budget (up to £500 ideally)

Any tips? I've looked at a more sporty boardman hybrid, specialized sirrus and the b'twin fit 5

I have a Boardman Hybrid Comp and its a lot more road than trail. Its a good bike for me and I can get decent speeds on it and the build quality has been good so far. Nice and comfortable with decent components and great styling (IMHO)

If you buy from Halfords I would recommend joining 'British Cycling' as your membership gives you 10% off

Have a look at the bikes the Dutch call Trekking Bikes.

(If you do ever buy a bike from outside the UK though be aware that we have the brakes the wrong way round so it'll come with the front brake on the left).

Thanks guys

The Boardman hybrid comp is what I was looking at.

Anyone tried the B'Twin Fit 5? Really like look of it and read great reviews.
