New Saddle - Keep your fingers crossed!

Well, I finally decided that I really need to get to grips with my road bike and one of the main things stopping me from riding it (apart from being scared sh1tless) is the bloody saddle that keeps sawing my girly bits in half on any ride over 10 miles. So, it had to go and the hunt was on for a women's saddle, with a cutout, in white with no pink bits and not too expensive. Finally settled on this in white and grey:

The reviews are really good, it's not completely ridiculously expensive and hopefully it will solve the problems - if not, there is always ebay...

Should arrive in the next few days - Please keep your fingers crossed that it agrees with my bum and I might finally learn how to ride that scary road bike after all!!! :hello:

Ooh that looks lovely!

I've got a few months to go before I can think about a road bike as I'm dependent on my company running the C2W scheme again, plus I've got to test the two bikes that might suit my (lack of) height :hello:

Can you not try a similar saddle to what you use normally pp,or will it look daft?
Main thing that hurts me is the saddle after 10-15 miles although it's getting better now I've tweeked it a bit.Funnily enough I used my hybrid yesterday for the 1st time in ages and it was really comfy in the saddle department, but I suspect longer trips would be problematic as it's quite padded.

Good Luck with it .I recently changed mine for a Richey Bio saddle as I was getting numbness in my boy bits which isnt good apparently.

Initially it felt hard to sit on but after a few hundred miles it is now really comfortable (longest ride was a 70 miler) and absolutely no numbness.

That looks like it will fit the bill, if it doesn't you should be able to sell it on without too much bother. Mrs Delstron swears by the Specialized BG womens saddle set slightly down at the front (just a bit). Try yours dead horizontal to begin with.

I did try the charge ladle from my mountain bike, but due to the completely different riding position, that wasn't great either (and it did clash horribly with the bike ;)), so I thought I'd go all the way and get one with a cutout...it can't be worse than the one that's on there at the moment!!!! The specialised BG ones don't agree with my bum either...

Good Luck miss Punky ...

My Synapse came with a horrible Selle Italia thingy on it and i've just replaced it with a Specialized BG Avatar so i'm hoping mine works out to ?

Here's to comfy bums and bits ;)

Ehhhhh...not very well, with puppy and house move I've hardly even managed to get on normal bike - in fact, it's been about twice this year, so the poor bmx has been terribly neglected! :becool: :blush:Things are sort of getting back to normal now, so more riding (on all bikes) is on the agenda!!!

It's arrived!!! It's amazingly thin - the whole thing including CRC's overdose of bubblewrap fitted through my letterbox. Looks REALLY nice, now just need to fit it and hope it agrees with my bum! ;)
If it doesn't work try keeping the bubble wrap on it:biggrin:
