hey CC'ers
got the bike serviced yesterday and while mooching around the shop i noticed their shoe section. i've been telling myself i'd not ride well with cleats and definitely have a clipless accident the second i tried them out but i'd become aware of just how much i shift my feet about on the standard side of my pedals and wanted to at least give the clipless side a try - my goodness what a difference
i shuffled about on a quiet street for 10 minutes after sorting the cleats out and adjusting the tension in the pedal and then set off for 10 miles. i'm amazed at how much more power i can transfer through the pedals and must have upped my average speed by 2 or three mph - i shall check this out when i can.
the shoes are comfy, they've got a sole that i can take a walk to the shops in if i like as the cleats are recessed - you all know what i'm getting at
i'm so pleased i did it, i'm enjoying the commute and my riding even more now - though i'm still a bit indecisive about which foot to release when coming to a stop - i forsee a fair few wobbles and grazed knees until i sort that bit out!
the shoes are shimano, can't remember the model off the top of my head but MD 77 seems right for some reason?
