Is £11 a normal price for a new spoke and to have them to fit.
That just seems a silly price to me.
Its also the back wheel so I got told it would be more if they had to take the cog off.

When I last paid it was £15 for the spoke and to true up the wheel. £11 is not an unreasonable charge in my opinion.

My LBS charges a tenner plus about 50p per spoke
Not all spokes cost 50p. Some low spoke count wheels use spokes that are expensive to replace that is why you have to think twice to rebuild those wheels. After a few years the spokes, rims and hubs will not only be expensive to replace but very difficult to find, I have a set of Shimano wheels that I can't find spares for anymore.

My recently acquired Raleigh Team needs a couple of new spokes.

So, rather than pay my LBS and I don't learn how to fit them, it's an ideal opportunity to have a go myself.

I bought 3 (just in case  ) at £1 each = £3 rather than £22 and hopefully I'll have learnt something new.

Totally agree. I had the same idea a few years ago and it wasn't difficult at all.
