I seem to buy a pair of sunglasses every year and each year I think I will buy better ones each year. Well this time I think I have. Believe it or not I got theses from a Haven campsite for £5.99 ( not the usual £10 or £20 ) I pay and they are the best ones I've ever had. They look as though they are on upside down but when you are in a racing position you are looking through the glasses and not over them like normal glasses . It just goes to show you that you don't always have to break the bank to get a good thing. Have you ever done something similar IMAG0254.JPG

If they keep the wind & road grit out and don't steam up too quickly, then they're fine.

My Aldi ones have lasted me fine for 2 years - £3.99

I know folk who will nothing but Oakley and I'm sure they have their reasons, but I can't justify the price vs improvement.

I've got men's (got too big a head for ladies!) Tesco mirror lenses, I think were £6.99.

So pleased with them, that I bought two more pairs for 'spares'.

A lot of the sports type glasses just don't cover my eye socket area properly, so I end up looking like Groucho Marx, with eyebrows stuck up over the top of the lenses!

Also, just can't justify £100+ for sunnies.

I picked up a pair of nike sunglasses in Debenhams with no price on, took them to the counter and asked the girl how much they were. "£3.60" she said. Needless to say I bought them and when I got home I did a quick google and they're around £55-£60

Aldi/Lidl ones for me too. They do the job and I don't care if they're lost or damaged.

Every pair of expensive sunglasses I ever bought I either promptly lost or broke. Cheapies seem to last for ages.

Definitely a big fan of cheap sunglasses

Beware of false economies... cheap sunglasses might keep the wind and flies out of your eyes, but they can do more harm than no 'glasses as your pupils dilate to allow in more light and can get damaged by prolonged exposure to UV rays.

If they [the cheapies] block 100% of UV light then they will be fine, but I would be a little wary of those that don't... unfortunately, to some extent, you do get what you pay for with sunglasses
