My model has but its a previous one, black/silver/grey I have mudguards and rear rack with a bag and drop down panniers, probably why my speeds are not so great, then again could be me or the fact it's a Viking.

Ah great that's good to know. How do you find the bike overall anyway? Not sure how much difference there is between the old and new model but would stll be interesting to know!

Hi Rob, I find it all right but never having ridden anything else modern I can't compare it.
My Tourino was originally a 7sp triple with a chain set of 52-40-30 and a rear cassette 26/23/21/19/17/15/13, its currently 48-38-26 front and 28/24/21/19/17/15/13 (the 28/24/21 are from mtb casstte and the 19/17/15/13 from a road cassette) with an Acera rear derailleur, the New one has carbon forks I believe, also the 39 front and 25 (42.1 gear inches, as opposed to my original low of 31.2", and currently 25.1" ) rear will be tough till you get use to it, also my original group set was a sora.
I do about 125 miles a wk on avg, with a total since June 23 of 2638 miles (give or take a few miles), I had got up to avg speeds of about 14.5mph over about 25 miles, Aug/Sept with an avg climb rate of 33ft per mile, my avg speed as fallen back a little since then due to the fact I am climbing more on avg (about 18ft per mile) and riding further per ride about 10 miles or so, also since then the avg wind speeds have picked up from 2.41 mph to 4.9mph, and temps dropped by about 9 degrees, so there are many factors to consider. I also carry quite a bit as I dont have a call a friend option if I brake down, and being anything up to 25 miles from home isn't fun if you brake down.

Lots of factors indeed! It's good to travel prepared for all eventualities... This is most likely how I will be travelling to. Hence the need to sort out some sort of rack. As for gear ratios etc. I have no idea about what it all means. Probably worth doing a bt of research into it. Didn't realise cycling was so complicated! . I have cycled aaalot in the past but only on mountain bikes and general commuting on a 80's racer, as well as a bit of touring on an 80's Falcon! So can't wait to try out the Torino  Just trained for a marathon and since completing it need a new challenge, so this is it! Running isn't as fun as cycling..

The lower the gear ratio the easier it is the pedal.
What you do to work out the ratio is divide the teeth on the front chain ring by those on the rear,
52/26 = 2:1 1st for example on the big front chain ring (not that you would do that in practise) 52/13 = 4:1 (7th or 8th on the rear), so in the first example your rear will turn four time for every rotation of the pedal and the second example it would only turn twice, making it easier to pedal but not going as far, you would also get a 2:1 ratio with 26 front and 13 rear (again you wouldnt do this in practise, due to cross chaining and putting excessive wear on chain and gears, not to mention it will most likely be noisy and because the energy is turned into noise less is going to the wheel).
If you need the gear inches multiply the ratio by 27, other factors come into it like crank lengths and tyre sizes, there are better sources of info for this than me.
There are lots of different combinations, partly why I build my own rear cassettes, so I get combinations I am happy with, well at least get me up the hills.
