Hi All,

I am new to this forum and a keen bike enthuasist. I own a Btwin RockRider 5.3 and love it. The only drawback is the low handle bar position. Would need advice on adjustable stem. I normaly use my bike for road use and have changed my tyres to suit that.

Cheers..

I have a Rockrider 5.2.

You can buy extension rings from Decathlon.

Take the cover off the stem, unscrew the allen nut.
Remove the whole head, and replace the existing ring with a bigger one.

Screw back on.

Ask the guy at Decathlon and he should show you how.

They did at my Decathlon in Malaga, and as 'customer service' is unknown to the Spanish, you should have no problems.

I've done this to mine BTW.

You have two measurements to consider

Firstly reach which is how far forward you stretch, and secondly the height which is how upright you are.

You need to decide how you want to alter the position.

The adjustable ones move in an arc, so as you move the bars up you also move them in and shorten the reach.

You can if you select the stem then move in only one dimension, but you need to know where you want to be.
