I think that the interesting thing is that it doesn't look interesting, if you see what I mean. Bung it in a row of racks in a town centre and most people wouldn't look twice. You couldn't say that about a car from then, or women's clothing, or a great many household appliances (I mean them looking the same, not being able to leave them in a bike rack, obviously). But over 100 years on, a bike's a bike - just shows how well it works.
