Yesterday I rode 3k into the village on a couple of errands and along our smooth surfaced lane felt a small bump on every rotation from the rear. Noted to self 'I must investigate that upon my return'. I could not discern the unevenness on the public road and rode back. looking at the rear wheel, I discovered why!

Especially if they are made by that manufacturer.

Looks similar to a Conti tire. It's also apparent that the tire has been in storage for a very long time, or left in the elements for a long time. Yeah, one of the things all riders need to do before a ride is to check the tires for any embedded objects, cuts, odd cracks, etc, then put air in.
