Conti sport contacts - just make sure you have a few spare tubes when you go out .............
Same for city jets which also have low puncture resistance. Specialised Armadillos have much better puncture resistance and low rolling resistance but are not as heavy as Schwalbe Marathon Plus and give a much better ride.

Chaps - what psi should I use on the jets?

75psi

What would be a good replacement for Sport Contacts. Mine are looking worn after 11 months (2000-2500 miles) of riding and will probably need replacing in the next 2 months, cuts are getting more numerous and the central belt is looking worn down now.

I am unsure whether to get the same again or go for a more upmarket pair.

Whats the p*******e resistance like on these tyres? I ran city jets for a year or so without much joy.
I use 700cx37 travel contacts on my scott hybrid as they are a semi slick.
They are a little heavy, but lighter than marathon plus. Roll reasonably well on road if pumped up to full pressure (85psi)
Puncture resistance is OK. Not as indestructible as marathon plus. I've had a couple of punctures on mine. It's worth noting they don't seem to come with the 1 year puncture warranty anymore.

Tyres are very good, much better for the job than my knobblies. However getting up earlier, eating less, busy work day plus 12.5 mile each way made me feel quite feint!! Think I should build up to this and not commit to too much. A lesson learned i think. Even though I am royally peeved i let myself get sooo out of shape.
