I have a Specialized Allez Elite, which had the stock Mondo tyres.
A couple of months ago I bought some new Specialized Turbo Elite tyres as spares, but didn't fit them as the old ones seemed to be going ok. They never seem to be recommended online, but the price was good, and the LBS pushed them.
I changed them yesterday, in preparation for the Etape Caledonia, and after doing a ride in dodgy weather this morning my impression is that they have made quite a difference. They seemed more comfortable, particularly on a smooth surface and also felt safer when cornering.I'm quite surprised, as I didn't really think I'd notice.
