New uses for a spoke?

Other than in a wheel of course My bathroom sink plughole was blocked with the usual crud, hair,soap, greasy stuff etc. I didn't have a suitable piece of wire to hand so I used an old spoke with the nipple still attached to fish around in the hole and rake the gunge out. Any other uses come to mind?

Bend the ends over to make a double ended hook to hold your chain together while you remove a link, or to make breaking/reattaching easier....

Or a thousand stirring/poking uses...

I've got a few at work with a ninety degree bend at one end for sticking sellotape in awkward places.

My main alternate use for them is to wedge one under a loose bit of wood sitting on a rafetr in the shed and use it to hang my chain on when drying off after the Sheldon shake.

I used a spoke as an emergency (now permanent) joiner in an alligator fastening on a conveyor belt at work.
Damaged belt, new fasteners... no joining pin. Frantic look around the workshop..... Spokes !!!!!

I believe bike riders and mechanics have a life time advantage over the rest by being introduced to spokes at an early age.

They have got me out of the sticky stuff on more occasions that I care to remember.

Duck Tape and spokes can remedy nearly all life's problems, except 'er indoors.
