new water pack plastic taste

Hi all I am hoping one of you lovely peeps has a suggestion about how to get rid of the foul plastic taste of a new water pack? We have rinsed and flushed ours through several times let them dry out and done it again but they both still taste discusting so any ideas would be really appreciated x

Fill it with something flavoured? Ribena is my personal favourite, and by making it slightly stronger than you would normally it keeps you topped up on energy.

[EDIT] that's also the reason I've used THESE bottles for a few years and now I won't use anything else.

In this order of escalation: Lemon juice, Miltons, Bicarb of Soda. If the last one don't work, buy another make.

As a point i give mine a weekly dose of milton as i use the bottle every day

Any sort of denture, or retainer cleaning tablets (I've found RetainerBrite to be decent) should do the job.

Lemon juice, even on one of those big cubes for water like campers use.

Thanks all will try all you have suggested. Just to answer a question my husbands is camelbak and mine is lezyne the camelbak is getting better but mine is awful. Thanke again x

Do you leave the water in the pack? I hope not; there will be a certain amount of plasticiser migration into the water (same stuff that comes out of your vinyl car upholstery and makes your windows go filmy) so fresh water is always best.

I always empty and dry them out then fill with fresh each time going to try the lemon juice at the weekend x

Chance would be a fine thing. So long as don't make you gag, I dont see what the problem is, at the end of the day it's the fluid thats important not the taste, but then I only drink water.
