I don't think these match a 9 speed do they?

If you read the question and answer section on Wiggle's site it would appear they do when used with the correct size spacer.

Well the bike is a sub 1000, so I dont think it's worth spending a grand on it, I reckon a couple of hundred would be the mark.

on the other hand, if the bike "only" cost a grand, you could easily justify spending close to that on wheels as the stock wheels would be a place where the stock bike had been specced to make savings to reach the £1000 price point...

Campag Neutron Ultras come in under 500 quid at Wiggle and by all accounts are pretty bl00dy good.

I'll take a look at these thanks, I know bikes are generally sold with the cheapest rims that the manufacturer can get away with, and this makes sense from a commercial point, when I was thinking what to upgrade mine with I just didn't want to spend more than the bike is worth however I take your point.

I looked at hand built and campagnolo Zondas and went with the campagnolo in the end. Got them for 240 ish and they are lovely.
