Well,

Got up this morning, whooo ! no frost - so off I went - 28 mile lumpy circuit round The Wizard in Alderley Edge.

Coming home through Woodford (heavily used road for cyclists) I spot a car coming from a junction on the left.....oh no...he's not stopping.....

I dive for the white line, cars coming in opposite direction, and pray..... He pulls right onto the road next to me, didn't even see me.....I'm now sat staring at him next to his window......

Cue a massive torrent of abuse and venom from me...sorry I've just ruined cyclist/motorist karma...... I sounded like a gruf Batman...grrrrrrr

Had I not swerved, he'd had had me off into on coming traffic.... another stupid idiot - just now recovered from getting knocked off two weeks ago.... barsteward....

I'm sick of these idiots.....next one gets a carbon soled shoe through their door

  1. Is the bike ok?
  2. Have you made a report to plod.
  3. You ok?
*ranked in order of importance*

It does make you wonder how these people manage to get to their destinations without causing some sort of incident every time they venture out.

For once I didn't encounter a single problem today despite the bad visibility.

Glad your ok Fossy,

If you got his number, report him.

Apart from anything else, plod might just get so fed up of getting lots of reports they do something about it.

And again, if they get a few on him, they might just have a quiet word.

And if heaven forbid he does hurt someone, a folder full of reports might actually convince the cps to take it seriously.

I used to commute to Alderley Edge everyday to the AstraZeneca site there. On my motorbike as opposed to cycle. It was amazing though how many people were oblivious around that area to who/what was on the road.

Once saw a car belt by some riders on horse back. I had noticed them a way off and slowed down to make as quieter noise as possible (I ride a Harley).

Good job I did as the moron in the car worried the horses who almost made a bolt for it. Fortunately the riders got them under control.

I truly believe sometimes that every 5-10 years we should re-take our test to show we are still fit to drive etc.

Owing to being ill (lady members of the forum are more than welcome to rush round to mop my fevered brow) I only left the house with reluctance to get a paper and had no such problems.

The driver missed me - more experience on my part - I had to slow down after the incident to calm down..."cool wet grass" indeed.....I was raging.....

The road it happened on is the main route for most cyclists out of South Manchester to Cheshire (past British Aerospace) - it's wide and a good road - I train on it all the time - another case of "not looking".....

Didn't get the number - 51 Plate A-Class Merc......I was too raging to think straight.....

The thing is....I dare not mention this to the wife......she's already nervous after my spill two weeks ago.....

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
report it...the more the police are aware the more they will hopefully do...best thing would be helmet cam evidence..then have th elocal sarge play it back to them.

...but to be honest I think a serious cleat scratch down the paintwork would be more effective.

i've found car body work to be fairly weak where a carbon cycling shoe is concerned. Made a fair old dint in a micra after some bint had knocked me off
