You can see how my target chasing is going on Cyclogs. I bet I don't make the average speed. :blush:
I'm always glad you're on Cyclogs because it's a relief to have someone whose average speed is similar to mine and not in the 18s and 19s...

You're most welcome. :blush:

Watch mine plummet shortly: I've decided to put the knobblies back on the bike 'cos I've got fed up slipping off and having to walk through the ankle deep mud in the woods. That will make it hard work on the long road section soon after though .. :blush:

Still, the extra exercise will be useful after I over-indulge at Christmas, I guess.

Stop bidding for bike stuff on eBay and otherwise buying junk I don't 100% need.

Reduce the bikes down and all above junk to something rational (figured now what I like/need out of the bikes - commuting, touring and some podge burning loops about - and 2 bikes will do more than fine, ideally with a heavy sharing of spares, figure anything only getting occational use or on a whim doesn't justify it's existance or the space, really need to stop getting silly with the money).

Do a long 100mile plus overnight ride sometime over summer.

Have a decent 2-3 week tour, all fit and ready so the miles are no bother.

Been on the bike a much less lately with manflu and the weather - get at least as fit as have gotten this year again.

Lose 8 kgs by doing a lot of distance training (3000 km January - March) to beat 58 minutes on J2/9 and beat 24 minutes on the Lower Withington course.
Spend more wisely (notice I won't commit to *less* ;)) on bikes and bike bits.

But most importantly, have as much fun as I had this year!

I make resolutions, but I can’t always see them through early this year my back was bad and hardly did any riding for the first 3 months and this month it’s bad again and have only ridden 18 miles.
so far this year I have only done 3,173 miles :sad:

I've got some:

1. Stop eating so much c--p! In fact, I'm going to say cut out sweets/chocolate/cake etc. altogether in January and try and make it last!

2. Do 3000 miles at least equates to 2-3 commutes a week, and together with resolution 4 should be easy.

3. Save up for and buy a nice touring bike and...

4. Do a touring holiday in Iceland

5. As a consequence of all these, lose weight!

1. Average at least 3 commutes a week. I should be able to get into a routine now I'm back in the office full-time.
2. Do at least 3000 miles this year.
3. Learn some bike maintenance!

1. Have another year of not using the car for work even once.

2. Try to avoid falling off on ice (like I didn't manage to week before last).

3. Learn how to fix a broken chain (I've read the theory, played with an old chain, but still not sure I could fix one by the roadside mid commute).

Start getting in a long, early morning weekend ride - last 3 have been cancelled due to baltic conditions and black ice. Sadly they would also have been my first 3.

Find more duathlons to enter.

Start using my mountain bike properly

Ride the Minigaig Pass

Complete the remaining stretches of NCN 7 so that I can claim to have cycled the full length, from Carlisle to Inverness.

1) Go for a week's touring in Norfolk with the missus - her family is from there;

2) Do a time trial or hillclimb - a real event, not a self-timed jolly;

3) Investigate getting a CX bike on the cyclescheme and if so, race it;

4) Do w/e tours of North Pennines, Scottish Broders and wild mid-Wales;

5) Build a radially spoked front wheel for my niece, using a hub I have already (28hh curvey Ultegra ;));

6) See if I can break 60mph on a road bike (p.b. is 52 mph) down the A6 from Shap Summit;

7) Cross the Channel and ride the pavé - bits of either Paris-Roubaix or Ronde van Vlaaderen (esp. the Koppenberg!)
