Himself got ripped off at the bottom of the Sacre Couer by those men who wrap bits of string around your wrist and then demand cash. They could see that I was cynical and just playing along so split us up. I let the my man do his wee speech and then told him in no uncertain terms to eff off and stop taking advantage of people because I'm a bit of a mouthy fishwife and my poor boyfriend who's too English and polite for his own good got robbed of 10 euros.

when asked by any of the beggars who ask for 50p for the bus fare I always offer to pay the whole fare for them.

when they get on the bus. if they are genuine they will wait for the bus they need if not they beat a swift retreat.

I have however looked after the local Tramp in my home town, Roger. I found him sleeping in my garage so took him directed him to the shower room in the utility room, in gave him new clothes , fed him, bought him some fags . then burnt the old clothes.
I saw him get a kicking a few years earlier and waded in to the scum who were kicking him. He remembered me from that and told me i was too kind a person. I felt very humbled at that.

I work for a charity that helps homeless and destitute people, providing hot meals etc.
Last week I was serving tea, coffee, jammy dodgers, fruit, etc. One fella asked for a cup of tea...as I was about to pour it into the cup, he noticed a speck of dirt in the bottom of the cup, and pointed it out to me.
"There's some dirt in that cup, can you use another one?"
"Yeah, sure" I said "sorry I didn't notice it."
"Who said 'beggars can't be choosers, eh?", he says. ^_^
