Newbie from Sunny Berkshire

Another new member here
I'm Chris, from Sunny Berkshire (Newbury area).
After many years of MTB (My current bike is a Specialized Hardrock Sport) my type of cycling has changed and I'm finding myself more on road than off! So I'm on the cusp of buying my first ever road bike.

Thought it a good time to join the forums and have a read, and maybe ask a daft question or two

Good choice, did you buy it from Banjo/Specialized Concept Store? Lots of great road riding around the Newbury and rural areas around West Berkshire.

No I didn't, bought it used from just outside London...can't wait to feel the difference between it and my MTB on the road.
I Have never ridden a roadbike before

Yeah we have some fantastic roads around here and see a lot of cyclists out and about (btw I was passed by the guys/girls doing the Wiggle Magnificat on Sunday morning http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/magnificat-sportive-13th-june-anyone.56431/ I aim to be taking part next year)

I Pick up my first ever RoadBike last night(after years of riding MTB's and BMX's).

First ride on her this morning, feels fast and light (compared to what I'm used to) and so so quiet on the road without the drone of knobblies.
I'm thrilled to bits.

Was up very early this morning, swapped the pedals over (for some basic ones) and hit the road.

Had a great ride in the early morning sun, nice breeze too. Felt a lot comfier with normal pedals so will stick with them while I get used to the new bike, will probably put them back on in a few weeks.

Then had a shower and popped to town in the car too have a "look" in the cycle shop and picked up a new Helmet (Giro Savant).
Will be going out again on the Allez again after lunch (can't get enough of it).

Woooooooosh........... recorded a new PB average (and Max) speed for my usual route this morning (on iPhone Cycle tracking app)
Loving it.
