Hey guys!

Long backstory. I'm in my 30s, overweight and picked up cycling last year. I bought a cheaper "hybrid" bike and hit the roads. With watching GCN, counting calories and getting some decent miles on my back I really loved the season. Since the winters are icy and cold I really haven't been cycling out doors that much, but with spring just around the corner I'm interested in investing into a road bike.

I'm from Estonia so unless order internationally my buying options for lower end bikes are very limited. Thus I've narrowed down some options that are in my budget range and available locally. But since I know nothing of different cassets and gear changes I'm stuck now. All I know is that I'm riding smooth flat terrain with almost no hills. And that for maintenence perspective I'm much better with simple rim breaks. But hey I can always learn to take care of the discs too I guess.

Bikes I'm wondering inbetween

  1. Merida Scultura 100 S-M 799 euros.
  2. Merida Scultura 200 S-M 749 euros. https://astri.ee/veloplus/merida-ratas-merida-scultura-200-s-m52-punane-must-1557890118638/
  3. Merida Cultura 300 S-M 899 euros. https://astri.ee/veloplus/merida-ratas-merida-scultura-300-s-m52-must-team-replica-1557890114843/
  4. Scott Speedster 50 699 euros. https://www.hawaii.ee/et/speedster-50-280645?sort=p.price&order=ASC
  5. Scott Speedster 30 899 euros https://www.hawaii.ee/et/speedster-30-280643?sort=p.price&order=ASC
  6. Romet Hurgan 1 2021 629 euros https://www.bikko.ee/maanteerattad/race/jalgratas-romet-huragan-1-2021/
  7. Hurgan 2 729 euros https://www.bikko.ee/maanteerattad/race/jalgratas-romet-huragan-2-2021/
  8. Hurgan 3 829 euros https://www.bikko.ee/maanteerattad/race/jalgratas-romet-huragan-3-2021/
  9. Steven San Remo 879 euros https://proshop.ee/maanteerattad/3481-stevens-san-remo-maanteeratas-18-punane.html

Another alternative would be to order a cheap bike from Amazon UK which is selling variety of Eastway roadbikes. But it would be much easier to deal with a local store. Any advice on which to pick would be appriciated.

The Merida scultura 300 looks the best value for money there to me, although the Romet Huragan 3 is good too, and IMO looks better.

Yeah but that colour scheme on the Huragan is a bit leary.
I'd go for the Scott, got 28c tyres too so maybe a bit more comfy on Estonian roads?
