Hi,I used to cycle many a moon ago(1980's)to work in London from Morden,around 9 miles.Now in my 47th year and not been on a bike since then have been roped into doing London-Brighton in June!.I have started training this week as i feel i need to.I have a mountain bike that has nobbles on and after reading many reviews will be changing them for schwalbe semi-slicks.Any more advise on what I need and how not to kill myself gratefully received.cheers

Build the miles up gradually but steadily. A mountain bike with slicks is going to better than nobblies. If you can get hold of a bike with 700c wheels, it will be easier still.
Stick a water bottle on the bike and take some food for munching whilst riding

Cheers for the info n extra sites ,there's about 15 of us doin the ride,some have done it before but most are like me .were hoping we're going to be carried along by others.not lookin fwd to the climbs though but giving myself plenty of time.cheers again

I'm hoping to do the London to Brighton this year! I've been told the best way to prepare is just ride your bike as much as you can.
