Got my new bike today. Rode all of 1/2 mile and shattered.Just now need to get fitter slowly!30 mins a day for a bit I think.

Congratulations on the new bike.
Don't worry about feeling knackered after such a short journey, you will think nothing of 10 miles within a fortnight if you keep up the half hour a day.

You'll soon increase the distance and reduce the time it takes once your fitness levels increase, but remember don't over do it, it's easy to go all out in the begining and end up with either a long term injury or lose heart in cycling all together.

Little by little and enjoy your new Bike, it's a very rewarding method of fitness and getting about, even better when you find fellow cyclists to help you along.
