Hello all,
Has anyone heard anymore about the planned cycle route from Newton Abbot to Teignmouth in S Devon. There was quite a bit of publicity 18 months ago but i haven't heard anynhing since.

There is a public forum at dawlish at the moment ( I think) strangely enough I received an email from the cycle forum through work the other day, I will post link tomorrow if I remember

From what I gather, land ownership rules it out.
Normally these thing go ahead if the landowner is cooperative.
Here there are multi owners making things impossible.

In Co Durham, the important Belmont Viaduct cycle link plan was said to be scuppered by a land owner. And the plan even won a ITV’s People’s Millions show major grant.

The rural lane up through Buckland and back to the estuary on the south side via Combeinteignhead going on to cross the bridge is lovely to cycle, if you have the legs.

And you don't meet too many nutters in cars
