I saw my GP today,we talked about my chemo after effects.I told him i was still in pain with the toes neuropathy,but i would carry on without the pills,because the after effects of those were worse than the neuropathy.But i would like help with the erectile dysfunction,which sadly is something most guys get after chemo.Anyway he said see me tomorrow as he had not finished shopping with his wife.

Maybe it's since I became an over-60, or maybe it's because of a change in policy, but I've noticed an increase in non-GP related things being pushed to me. I was reminded to go for my asthma review, had a cholesterol blood test, bowel cancer screening, as well as the usual flu and covid vaccines and stuff. I just got an invitation to go in to the surgery to get my BP taken.
This is all welcome and positive. Mind you, the last one seems a bit OTT as I take my BP once or twice a week anyway, so I could just tell them, but I suppose that as not everyone does that, getting into the surgery for a real BP test is sensible.

(I'm late-60s) Not seen nor heard from my GP practice for over a year. Had Covid & flu in Autumn but GP practice doesn't get involved in that ('cos Covid vaccination involved, I went through a pharmacy). Not complaining, quite happy about that but maybe highlights how different GP practices can be.

I'm late 50s and mine call me regularly for liver checks, every 2 years for a bowel cancer test, etc.

I'm mid 50s and I don't think a month has gone by without an appointment for the last 6 years!! I'm starting to collect frequent flyer points from the receptionist....

At one time I used to ration myself to no more than one GP appointment a year, unaware that the average is five, but that all went out of the window once I went down with AF 13 years ago.

Finally went private just to obtain a diagnosis as waiting time is now 70 weeks 😢
Osteoarthritis in both hips, right side is worse.
Surgeon is reluctant to replace the right hip before all conservative measures have been tried.
Only hope left is a steroid injection to see if that can provide any relief and postpone the inevitable.
Not what I wanted to hear but pretty much what I expected.
My cycling and dog walking have been much curtailed but just have to just carry on 😣
If push comes to shove I can dip into our little retirement fund to pay for surgery for one hip but will need to work longer than planned to replace the funds. (Paying for two is just not possible).
Worry is that if we pay for hip one and all is well, then hip two gives up then I am at the mercy of NHS and back to square one.

My Doctors are so bad they are actually quite good. Empty waiting room and easy phone in whilst the good practice next door sees patients crammed in and phoning for 30minutes only to be told that all the available slots have been taken.
I finally got my Urology app through last week.From start of enquiry to appointment date it will be 16 weeks.It is kind of a worry,when a few years ago i had my prostate op,then in the groin was the largest area of lymphoma cancer,that is why they did the biopsies four of them from there and now part of me is not working correctly.But there is now light at the end of the tunnel,i am getting seen.
